Dear all

My wife is now keen to update to an iPhone 4S for the better camera.

I already have a 4, with my own iCloud account that syncs with my PhotoStream to our MacBook.

How do I best setup my wife's iPhone so that it syncs her photos to my MacBook over the air? Share my iCloud account, or her own?

Really confused on this so any help gratefully received (as indeed anyone wanting to sell a 4S - we'd love first refusal!)

Thanks

Adam

Hi Adam

With iOS6 you can now share photostreams, so you and your wife can have separate iCloud accounts but share photos with eachother. You'll need the latest version of iPhoto to download them on your Mac. Why not go for the 5 over the 4S? The camera's much improved.

Since upgrading my iphone 4s to ios6 my battery is suddenly draining at
an almost visible rate. It was okay initially and I've tried resetting
and turning off location services but doesn't seem to be making any
difference. I'm wondering if it's an app update that's caused it but
without deleting one by one I'm a bit at a loss to know what to try next.

Any suggestions gratefully received. It ran out completely overnight
from about a 40% charge with no apps open!

I think it's iOS6, my iPhone5 is doing the exact same thing. By 4pm yesterday i was down to 12%. There have been reports of a full restore improving things but not by much, I guess we'll just have to wait for iOS 6.0.1

Sorry if this is too obvious... but defo try a full turn off and turn on.

then, what about removing only those apps you most recently updated? can you recall which they were? perhaps start with the least well known ones (ie a smaller developer) and work backwards?

most annoying for you I'm sure.

In contrast, my wife and I have not noticed anything like this.  Does that make it more or less likely to be the OS?

Russell

I’m curious about the differing elements affecting battery life as iOS 6, plus new versions of iOS 6 updated apps, has definitely improved battery life for both my 4S and my wife’s iPhone 4.

The improvement has been striking as my iPhone 4S will run for 2 days between charges rather than the 14 hours with iOS 5. And this is with Location Services, Photostream, iCloud and Bluetooth on. I regard my usage as being quite heavily Internet oriented - browsing, email, internet radio, etc.

The only oddity I have is that AirPrint from the iPhone isn’t so quick using Printopia on my Mac, and for some reason doesn’t seem to work at all on iPads. Probably a networking issue but only started since upgrading to iOS 6.

Tony

So glad I'm holding back on upgrading IOS on my iPhone 4. I did do the upgrade on our iPad (3) and there's no battery loss at all. Charged around one or two days ago. No use since then and the battery's at 99%.

My iPhone 5 was disconnected after a full-cycle charge this morning at 8am.  Been on all the time since with default settings with about 30 minutes of iPlayer Radio use and calls etc. now sitting at 92%.

Does anyone here have a tried and tested recommendation for a reliable
hosting company with true 24/7 active support for a 100+ domains of
varying flavours and sizes - MySQL, wordpress, Zen Cart, MovableType.

Thanks

My only experience is Heart Internet - used them for 5 years or so. Reliable in the sense of availability so haven't needed to call support other than when I had a brainstorm and couldn't recall my admin password for my account with them.

Pat

I've used 5quid hosting for a number of sites, they offer a reseller package that might be suitable with so many sites.

You can also trial their system (inc reseller) for free
