I have the latest version of Safari with Mac OS X Lion.  I have occasional problems with overlapping text or columns of text on some web sites.  A couple of days ago on a web site I use a lot I realised I had completely lost a portion of text.  If I use Safari to access the same web site from any of the other two accounts on my Mac the web site is fine.  The web site is also fine on Firefox.  I have restarted my Mac Mini and in Safari used Reset and Clear Cache with no apparent effect.  Turning off all other apps running does not help either.
What is happening with Safari on just one account.     Diana

If it is just one account, logic would suggest it is something to do with the settings/prefs in safari on that one account.

I'm afraid I'm away from my mac at the moment, but maybe have a look and see if there are any obvious discrepancies between accounts?

Regards

Russell

Did not change anything just suddenly happened.  I do not use the other accounts normally but I went into to them to check what was happening with Safari, they would both as a result be on default settings.

Try going to your home folder> library > move the safari folder onto the desktop, then open safari.

If that doesn't work it could be a font issue. You can use Font Book in the applications to temporarily disable the fonts in your user's library. Open Font Book then click on User in the top left, select all the visible fonts and go to file > disable. Reopen Safari and test.

Let me know if either helps. Undo the change if not!

Sam,

Sorry tried both, neither worked.  In Font Book found Disable under Edit not File!

The web site was fine until a couple of days ago and have been using it every day for several months.  The missing text (not all text with the photographs just a portion) may of course suddenly reappear as suddenly as it disappeared!

Thanks for trying to help.

Diana
