I'm getting a 'not implemented' error here. What am I doing wrong?

pb and mesh attached.

Hi,
you can export only scalar or vector data (using VTK format), but
qstress has dimension 3 while the problem dimension is 2.

I see, thanks. Makes sense now. Just for interest, how are displacements in 3d output to vtk i.e. u1, u2, u3?

A little clarification:

One can export scalars and vectors in mesh vertices, and scalars, vectors and
tensors in mesh cells (elements). I will try to fix that.

The displacements are output as vertex data - vectors. Each row corresponds to
a mesh vertex, and is [u1, u2, u3].

Fixed. Your example works now in the git version.

Robert, thanks for the fix.

I'm not seeing a difference between stress (in elements) and qstress (at nodes). I think I need sleep. I'll examine further tomorrow.

I like easy fixes :)

Mayavi uses CellToPointData filter to display tensor norm... -> it _should_
look the same!

More info: If you click on the top-left icon, it will open the mayavi VTK
pipeline, so that (i) you can see how the visualisation is done and (ii) you
can edit/modify the pipeline.

In Mayavi (or in VTK in general(?)) some operations/filters are defined only
for point data (in mesh vertices), so the interpolation cell->point must be
done first to be able to apply those operations to cell data.
