Hey Guys,

i setup one Farm with one Role for first Tests. I have install Scalr v 2.5.

After i launched my farm the one server is in "Initializing" status.

In internal messages i can see that server doesn't answer.

out / HostInit and out / HostInitResponse are failing.

I connect to the server and in scalr log i see:

2012-03-02 09:52:27,840 - INFO - scalarizr - [pid: 1994] Starting scalarizr
2012-03-02 09:52:27,841 - INFO - scalarizr.handlers.lifecycle - Starting initialization
2012-03-02 09:52:27,859 - INFO - scalarizr.messaging.p2p.consumer - Build message consumer server on 0.0.0.0:8013
2012-03-02 09:52:28,175 - INFO - scalarizr.messaging.p2p.producer - Message 'HostInit' delivered (message_id: a80240d9-77d1-40ef-acf0-5408fe27de0b)
2012-03-02 09:52:28,634 - INFO - scalarizr.snmp.agent - [pid: 2065] Starting SNMP server on 0.0.0.0:8014

Can anyone help me to fix this problem?

Are the core settings set properly? Protocol / domain name / ip address.

After struggling with it this week, I can confirm it is usually a simple setup issue. Also make sure you can curl the scalr server from the server instance.

I setup an fresh ubuntu server in virtual box.

In my router configuration i open for tests all ports for the scalr host.

In Core Settings my settings are:

Eventhandler:     http   IP-Address from me

Server Ip Address:   same IP-Address

With cUrl on Server i get the html code from index.html

Did you need other informations?

If server in Initializing state it means that messages normally reach
scalr. But if on Server Internal Messaging screen marked as Failed it
means that scalr cannot reach instances on port 8013. If messages
stuck in Delivering state - means that cronjobs were not configured.

Igor

The installation page on the wiki has the latest list of cron jobs. Did you take it from there?

I only use http://wiki.scalr.net/Installing_Scalr#Set_cron_jobs

Is this list not complete? If no where i can get the full list of cronjobs?

So messages stuck in Delivering state and after 3 attempts become Failed, right?

You can also check the httpd access_log or ssl_access_log on the scalr server to check if the server instance ever contacted the scalr server.

In this case issue is that Scalr cannot reach scalarizr on port 8013.
Check connection and also check php errors. As an option maybe you've
forgotten to install pecl_http extension.

Igor

For this you can check the scalarizr log on the instance. Also try telnet to the instance from the scalr server on port 8013.

I check php errors and don't find any. I check phpinfo and i see that http extension is loaded. I check pecl list and here is pecl_http installed.

On telnet i get this information:

Escape character is '^]'.
show
<head>
<title>Error response</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Error response</h1>
<p>Error code 400.
<p>Message: Bad request syntax ('show').
<p>Error code explanation: 400 = Bad request syntax or unsupported method.
</body>
Connection closed by foreign host.
