Hello.

I would like to try a setup with Scalr to manage vm with OpenVZ virtualization technology.
Is this possible someway? If this isn't, can Scalr use some generic libvirt virtualized resources?
Does this require hacking the Scalr source code?

Thanks in advance,
Alessandro

Scalr doesn't support this or have plans to, you can see our roadmap here: wiki.scalr.net/Roadmap

What's your use case for this?

I am looking for a way to implement a private cloud with automated deployment, redundancy and automatic scaling on demand.
And I would like to do it with OpenVZ container technology because of its high VM density that is much more cost effective than other VM solutions when you have VM with very low load. This is good for staging environments or just started projects that maybe will never reach a high load.
I have checked the cloud technologies supported by Scalr but AFAICT none support OpenVZ (or another container technology)

Not on our roadmap, though you can suggest at scalr.uservoice.com, or even better contribute some code!

I had a look at the source code and tried to hack a couple of pages just as a start to understand if and how it could be done but I had little result.

Could you point out to some documentation on Scalr source code? or summarize briefly how it could be done and some files to look into?
Thanks!
