Satchmo integration with Pinax

What do you think about integrating Satchmo with Pinax?

I've seen various thread from 2009 talking about or initiating projects which haven't been maintained past 2009. I did find one project more recent, but this one hasn't been maintained since 2010.

They seem like a good coupling. Linking product reviews,CRM and SEO (e.g. what customers have been buying) with Pinax would open satchmo up to a whole new market.

What are your thoughts on this?

There has been some general interest in this ever since Pinax and Satchmo were released. I've even had some brief conversations with the Pinax guys about it. The extent of the conversations though was basically "It would be cool if Satchmo and Pinax could be integrated more." That's about it though.

There have been some people that have done some work on this but I don't have any relevant experience with Pinax. The bottom line from my perspective is that it's worth investigation to see what "integration" would really look like and how much work it would be. I would caveat things by saying that we have to do this in a way that Pinax is completely optional. We don't need any more external satchmo dependencies :)
