Titusville Model Sailing Club #95
4th Annual Soling 1M Hot Dog Regatta Report
On Saturday July 7th Titusville Model Sailing Club hosted its fourth annual Soling 1M Hot Dog regatta.
Turnout for the regatta was bountiful despite the high heat! Perhaps hotdogs drew the crowd from as far south as Port Charlotte Florida and north from South Daytona Florida as well as a few locals.
Skippers meeting began at 12:15 hosted by the Race Director, Butch Bragg with giving some reminder details about rules and Corinthian Spirit. With ten boats registered and on the water racing began sharply at 12:30. With winds beginning easterly around 5-7 the races were smooth and competitive. An early afternoon wind shift caused a few drift matches before the break for some hotdogs. After the break the winds began to cooperate and allowed for some good fun sailing. The matches were sailed with few fouls and good sportsmanship by all sailors.
After 12 heats and two throw outs
