The march continues! Salt 0.15.0 is out!

This release comes with many substantial feature additions including the new salt mine system.

It is noteworthy also that this release has a security fix, an opening was found in the file server which has been closed, the exploit was found just over a day ago and this is the fastest release we couldhet to get it live.

The release notes are in the usual location:
http://docs.saltstack.com/topics/releases/0.15.0.html
(The saltstack doc server is still building the release notes, before it is done check: https://salt.readthedocs.org/en/latest/topics/releases/0.15.0.html)

The source can be downloaded from pypi:

https://pypi.python.org/packages/source/s/salt/salt-0.15.0.tar.gz

Note to the Debian/Ubuntu packagers, the optional dependency for virtual package detection has changed from aptitude to dctrl-tools.

Any thoughts on when the Ubunta PPA at ppa:saltstack/salt will be updated for 0.15?

Any news for RHEL / CentOS rpm ?

I can shove it in today if people want it.

The problem is my Ubuntu minions, and my CentOS master.

If you upgrade minions before the master, Salt breaks, people cry, and Dave busts in your front door and hits you with a sock full of nickels.

Not that I'm letting my personal infrastructure dictate project releases, but I'm not the only person in this position, so we do try to keep RPMs and DEBs in somewhat synced release schedules.

There is no real pressure, I wouldn't want any socks with nickels flying around because of me =)
Just wanted to know if there is some kind of an expected release date
