Hi there,

All files that I upload to resourcespace says  "preview unavailable" - i cant see any images.  Any idea what I need to do to fix this?

I have resourcespace running on windows 2008 iis7.5.

Thanks!

check to see if this is set in your config:

# Allow to disable thumbnail generation during batch resource upload from FTP or local folder.
# In addition to this option, a multi-thread thumbnail generation script is available in the batch
# folder (create_previews.php). You can use it as a cron job, or manually.
$enable_thumbnail_creation_on_upload true;

Hi Allison, this might be a dumb question but which config file are you refering too the config.default.php file listed under C:\inetpub\wwwroot\resourcespace\include or are you refereing to a different file?

thanks for the help!

The config.default file is just that...a default. It should not be modified. Any modifications should go into config.php (a file located in the same location as config.default). If you do not see this file, please create it!

When you perform an update there will be changes to config.default.php based on features added to the system. Config.php is not touched by any upgrades, as the system considers this file to be an override of config.default.php based on your personal system preferences.

I went back and checked and the "$enable_thumbnail_creation_on_upload = true;"  and everything was correct, I am still unable to get any type of preview, it continues to say that the resources are unavailable. Im losing my hair here trying to figure this out....any other ideas, much appreciated!!

run an installation check (found in the team center) and post the results.

do you have error logging on? If so check your php error log for clues.

Part of the issue may be that the system can't locate your resource (note the "Offline Resource" file info).

How do you import files/where are originals stored?

I am unable to preview the images in ResourceSpace. $enable_thumbnail_creation_on_upload = true but still can't see the images. Please help in this regard.

I have the same problem .... after a server crash.
I still find the metadata, but the pictures have gone.
I managed to restore a backup of the SQL database.
Restoring the pictures is not so easy ....  still googling ....

Marc -

If the pictures were stored in the local filestore you should review they still exist and have not been corrupted. If they were not brought into the local filestore (static sync_ingest=false) you need to make sure that the file path stored in the resource table is the proper path to the resource and that the machine running RS has access to the sync location.

Hi - I would like chime in with my version of this problem.

When I upload into a collection, it says Preview Unavailable and Offline Resource. My other resources are all visible and editable.

I'm working with ResourceSpace 8.4.11017 on an Ubuntu 18.04 LTS server.

My Installation Check is completely clean.
PHP: 7.2.5-0ubuntu0.18.04.1  (config: /etc/php/7.2/apache2/php.ini)
MySQL: 5.7.22-0ubuntu18.04.1  (client-encoding: latin1)
GD: 2.2.5
ImageMagick 6.9.7-4
ffmpeg: 3.4.2-2
Ghostscript 9.22
Exiftool 10.80

I have a NAS connected from /mnt with a persistent link. filestore is a symlink in my ResourceSpace directory and is writable.

I have tried the above suggestions, but am so far not getting a clue.

The Apache2 error.log has 1 error: [Wed Jul 04 17:09:37.811253 2018] [autoindex:error] [pid 9161] [client 192.168.12.8:39002] AH01276: Cannot serve directory /var/www/html/www.zmmarchive.com/filestore/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html,index.cgi,index.pl,index.php,index.xhtml,index.htm) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

When I tried tracking this down, suggestion included configuring httpd.conf to have the Directory option: Options +Indexes, but I was already advised that ResourceSpace should have Options -Indexes. I tried changing it to +Indexes temporarily, but that had no effect.

Any suggestions? Thanks for your ideas ...
