Hi ResourceSpace Community,

I've just added a resource space install to my hosting, Got it all set up and working. Although when I uploaded an image I get the thumbnail image error. After reading on the forums I found that you can use check.php to see if the install is set up correctly. I get this error

/var/www/vhosts/phsassetbank.co.uk/httpdocs/pages/check.php line 114: file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/bin/convert) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/phsassetbank.co.uk/httpdocs/:/tmp/)

How do i fix it?

Thanks

You will need to relax or remove PHP's open_basedir restrictions so that ResourceSpace can run the necessary helper applications like ImageMagick, ffmpeg, exiftool, etc. This has to do with how your hosting account/virtual hosts are set up.

There are some instructions here:

Thanks for the reply david

I have now created the vhost.conf file and have added it to the httpdocs directory. Correct?

<Directory /var/www/vhosts/phsassetbank.co.uk/httpdocs/>
<IfModule sapi_apache2.c>
        php_admin_value open_basedir none
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_php5.c>
        php_admin_value open_basedir none
</IfModule>
</Directory>

My next question is that the guide asks to "update Plesks settings manually afterwards, with /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -u –vhost-name=example.com"
Could you give me some guidance on how this is done?

I am very new to this side of sever setup, and would really appreciate any further help
Phil

BTW I am running Plesk and have followed this guide http://www.toosweettobesour.com/2008/02/02/plesk-open_basedir-workaround/

(really should have mentioned that in my last reply)
