Hi all,
This is Dhruva Seshadri. Romantic, Musician, Left-liberal (though fast taking on a libertarian view). Currently posted at Chennai airport.
I studied at VIT Vellore (B.Tech in Info Tech, 2006), worked at Orissa for a few months in an NGO, then bitten by the UPSC bug. Was in Delhi for a couple of years (where I met Saikrishna at Upendras). Did my Foundation Course at Bhopal (where I met Salil) and Departmental Training at NACEN Mumbai (where I met Arjun). Keen on making improvements in government through systemic change.
I've for a long time been interested in development issues, especially environment and education. Have been involved with volunteer groups in Chennai, especially on pollution, environment and corporate accountability. Really enjoyed our long, passionate debates/discussions in the messes and lawns of Bhopal and Mumbai.
Deeply into music, especially classical and jazz. I play the piano, violin, mouth organ and guitar. I love reading too. Sports - mainly tennis and long-distance running (right now only the latter is regular). Very passionate about PJ's, curds, and armchair sociology, psychology, philosophy. I am religious in the sense that I believe in 'higher purpose' and in god. I have wanted to be several things 'when I grow up' (and I'm still not sure if that's happened) - pianist, conductor, schoolteacher, professor (of I don't know what), mathematician, sociologist, psychologist, social worker. Never thought I'd be a babu!
Somewhere along the way I got married also.
Cheers, and looking forward to some good ones.
Dhruva.
