Output published date in Meta tag using render tag

Hi,

I want to put published date of the page in the page meta tag using
render tags?

<meta name="publisheddate" content=<<Published Date>> >

is there any way to get the current date using render tag so that when
ever the page is getting published published date gets added to the
meta tag?

Please let me know the syntax of the render tag to use if possible.

Hi,

I don't know of a render tag to do this, but you can use a preexecute code to write the current date into the tag while publishing.

Another option would be to use an Info type placeholder and select publication date/time.

I recommend to not add the publishing date.
This causes all pages to be published every time you run a full site
publish.
Which means your publishing will take forever, only for a date
change..

I'd suggest to add the page modification date instead.
This should be written inside a standard field, since info elements
which provide the date cause the above behavior when running a full
site publish.
