Hi All

A strange problem we are having here... Doing a clean install of V11 SP1. Install goes through fine, Configuration too.
When I log on as admin for the first time I am taken to the Server Manager tab (as I should) but instead of seeing the Server Manager tree there is nothing in the window.
I can click on User Settings and Help buttons, but I cannot select a project (BestPracticeProject was setup during installation) and when I goto the Homepage tab, I get nothing as well.

Additinal info:
Re-installed several times - same issue
Originally had SQL 2012 (SP1 documentation says it is compatible) but to eliminate SQL issues switched to 2008 R2 - same issue
Checked Application pool settings, seems like all is in order.
Another interesting problem (symptom) is that there are no logs being created of the installation or the configuration. However the databases are being created.

We've been at it for 3 days now... I am working with OT to solve this but was hoping somebody came across this issue before and has a solution for us.
It seems like something pretty simple like a permission issue or a setting in .NET or IIS...

Thanks!

Dan

Compatibility mode on the web browser?

C'mon, if it were that simple :)

Found a solution, but not 100% sure about the actual cause yet. Once we have it documented and I am sure of the issue I will respond to have the solution archived here.

Yeah!
We are not sure what the cause of this was but the resolution was to set the OT64 app pool to Classic mode instead of Integrated.

As I said, not sure what caused it. One of my colleagues suspects install sequence of IIS and .NET may have had something to do with it.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards
Daniel

Our fresh Installation of 11.0 HF3 worked fine back in june. Upgraded this week to 11.0 SP1 HF2 - also without problems. (Windows 2K8 R2, existing SQL Server 2008 - databases from our old 10.1-installation)
Stupid question: You already compared this installation with a other working one?
Good to hear you found a workaround. Even if I personally don´t like to make a workaround without of knowing why it works. :-)

Kind regards,

Christoph

Yeah we have another working version on another server. Also tried installing 11.0 vanilla and 11 SP1 - same exact issue.
Its a really strange one.
We are not too worried as this is just a staging server. I think the plan is to have the live one built at some stage and that is where we will have to have it perfect. When we get that done, I would like to do the staging one again.
Ideally I would like to be able to recreate the problem in a controlled environment so that I can get the original cause nailed down but if it all works on the new installations, I will be happy with that.
