Rachel Maddow Tops Sean Hannity

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow beat out Fox News’ Sean Hannity in the Nielsen ratings to become the most-watched cable news host for the month of March.

Maddow averaged 3.058 million viewers for the month, narrowly topping Hannity’s 3.00 million. That also marks Maddow’s best performance ever in the 9 p.m. ET time period. Maddow also won in the adults 25-54 demographic, nabbing an average of 671,000 viewers in the measure compared to Hannity’s 616,000. CNN’s Anderson Cooper finished third in the hour with an average of 1.125 million viewers and 382,000 in the demo.

MSNBC also had a strong month as a whole, with the network’s prime time, daytime and total day numbers all setting new MSNBC records in total viewers. MSNBC’s primetime lineup averaged 2.398 million viewers in March, up 8% over the same month last year. Both Fox News and CNN saw declines in the same period of 18% and 16% respectively. MSNBC was also up this March in both daytime and total day, while Fox News and CNN saw declines.

It is a preconceived notion about MSNBC and the mainstream media in general. I have only seen her a few times as well. I used to watch Chris Matthews daily years ago and he was pretty balanced for a guy that worked for Tip Oneil and Jimmy Carter. He claimed to have voted for GWB in 2000. That all changed when MSNBC jumped the shark and went on the same kind of liberal rants that Fox was spewing on the right. Bottom line, there are very few trustworthy news sources anymore.

Of course, this is all a moot point since Maddow and Hannity are not news at all but commentary.

> Republicans are going to be in real trouble if lies become less popular. Maybe that's had it's time in the sun.

Republicans hardly have the monopoly on lies. They are currently in the lie lead but Democrats have convinced generations of Jerrys to think they give a fuck about the little guys. Dream on.

This is a false narrative, maybe a candidate for the label "Fake News".

I know those on the right think they are being objective when they
portray Hannity and Maddow as just opposite poles, sides of the same
coin, but that simply is not the case. All you have to do is watch both
shows one after the other and you'll see. Hannity is pure opinion,
Maddow is fact based investigative journalism. Hannity is more like a
right wing version of Bill Maher, except without the sense of humor.

The Democrats and Republicans are hardly in some kind of neck and neck race for lying. I have major issues with the Democratic Party but they aren't even in the same universe as Republicans when it comes to misrepresentation, hypocrisy, and outright lying. Jerry isn't any dupe. He's partisan, there's no doubt about that, but at least he didn't pick the dogs*** Republicans to be a partisan for.

Back to Maddow- there's a difference. Her commentary is factual. If you want to claim she misrepresents or lies you need to show some work.

Since I don't watch either one I can't say. I never liked Fox although O'Reilly was ok in the early days, but that was years ago. I gave up on MSNBC too. ABC, CNN, CBS, FOX, NBC, all BS. CNN and Fox are at the bottom of the fake news as far as I am concerned.

Bill Maher is very entertaining, I saw him live last year when he came through.

Bad generalization. FOX is the most untrustworthy news source on the air. They intentionally lie. I’ve seen no other news network that intentionally lies.

Yea, they do. The real media has documented over 2,000 lies by trump. I know you’ve seen some of them yourself as they’ve been posted here.

Republican politicians lie all the time. Just look at (forced to retire) Paul Ryan’s when he keeps saying that Social Security must be reduced because of what it’s doing to our deficit. They refuse to take questions anymore because they simply cannot answer to the fact it doesn’t.

They don’t see or talk to the Parkland kids because the NRA won. Today’s Republican politicians are now stuck. If they turn down the NRA bribery money by even suggesting gun control, they know their career is over. Some see the light and already know it’s over. North Carolina had two or three special elections and they flipped to Democrat. Two other states the same. Red Alabama just got its first Democratic Senator in 25-years. This morning Paul Ryan said he was going to retire, as have 24 other Republican house members. They know in this next election that the kids will be marching, as will their parents, as will us activists (MoveOn.org). We’ll demand to know the answers to:

1. Why don’t you want gun control for your school kids?
2. Why won’t you close the gun show loop hole?
3. Why do you want felons and the mentally ill to be able to purchase guns?
4. Why do you keep saying; Now is not the time to talk about gun control?

All the Republicans can do is lie.

> They are currently in the lie lead but Democrats have convinced generations of Jerrys
> to think they give a fuck about the little guys.

Show where they haven’t. Democrats, got women the right to vote; got Blacks the right to vote; created social Security; ended segregation; passed the Civil Rights Act; the voting Rights Act; created Medicare; passed the Clean Air Act; Clean Water Act.

What did you Republicans do? Oppose every one of those programs. And now you're against Gun Control.

But do show us your list…

Most, if not all, of whom acquired their weaponry with the active assistance of the 'West'. It's just as legitimate to describe them as 'Western/Christian/secularist' terrorist groups.

Muslims in the US are 20x
> more likely be involved in terror attacks than any other group.

Is 20X another made-up fact that you got from your Islamophobic online resources? I suspect that the number of terrorists as a percentage of Muslims in America is far smaller than the number of terrorists as a percentage of those who subscribe to the ideology of right-wing hate groups in America. You like to swamp the threat of terrorism by right-wing hate groups with the entire population of the U.S. Why don't you use the same method and view 'Muslim terrorists' as a percentage of all Muslims in the world? Because it wouldn't give you the results you want. The plain fact is that a resident of the U.S. is more likely to be killed or injured by a right-wing terrorist than a 'Muslim terrorist'.

People
> in Islamic countries, especially women, have severely curtailed human
> rights.

Yet you find it quite easy to dismiss the Buddhist, Hindu, and Christian communities and countries which have severely curtailed the human rights of Muslim women. Can you name one Muslim country which has a government policy of rape and murder of non-Muslim women by it's armed forces (Buddhist Myanmar)? Can you name one Muslim country which systematically murdered 8,000 non-Muslim captives in a single town (Srebrenica by Christian Serbs)? I'm sure you must have some mealy-mouthed explanation for your selectivity.

Islamic governments like Iran and Saudi Arabia are supporting
> conflicts all over the region.

Such as Saudi Arabia in Yemen with the full support and assistance of the United States. Great example, genius.

I guess when you say Iran is supporting conflicts you mean they are assisting the Syrian government in organizationally exterminating ISIS, which you like to refer to as the 'real' Muslims, whose weapons were funneled to them by the United States. You don't consider the U.S. and Israel creating mayhem by proxy in this manner as 'supporting conflict', just anyone who opposes it. And you must be crying in your beer about not having ISIS anymore to represent as representative of ALL Muslims after they are nearly exterminated by MUSLIMS and after millions of MUSLIMS fled their rule.

Or are you saying Iran is supporting conflicts because they are helping Muslims in Lebanon to resist repeated Israeli invasions of their country? Those invasions, strangely, don't meet your definition of 'conflict'. And the mass slaughter of civilians in Lebanon carried out by Israel don't fit your definition of 'severely curtailed human rights' either, apparently.

Countries that have welcomed millions of
> Muslim migrants in Europe are struggling with crime and inability to
> integrate.

According to people who fabricate 'Muslim No-Go Zones' and mythologies of entire Muslim communities involved in the 'grooming' of innocent white girls as prostitutes. You sound EXACTLY like the Alabama Ku Klux Klan 70 years ago.

This tactic of crying "Islamophobe!" is just lame bullshit.

I've quoted those figures from studies like Pew Research. Of course

The plain fact is that a resident of the U.S. is more likely to be

Those invasions, strangely, don't meet your definition of 'conflict'. And the mass slaughter of civilians in Lebanon carried out by Israel don't fit your definition of 'severely curtailed human rights' either, apparently.

So you support Hezbollah, nice.

You're wrong. I am a decent and fair minded person. I give every person
and every group the respect it deserves, and I am critical of every
person, nation, religion and community for its bad ideas and actions.
You have chose to issue a free pass to Islam and you act that out with
your petty little fatwas against people who don't do the same.

How could anyone NOT throw a fit talking to that lying piece of shit

Manufactured and supplied are two different things. I don't think Russia is supplying ISIS with weapons and at the same time fighting them, do you?

I don't even know who any of the names you mentioned are (except for Trump) but I don't expect any journalist to throw a fit. Maybe we have a different standard for journalism.

I am a white nationalist, by definition.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_nationalism

White nationalists say they seek to ensure the survival of the white race, and the cultures of historically white states. They hold that white people should maintain their majority in majority-white countries, maintain their political and economic dominance, and that their cultures should be foremost.[4] Many white nationalists believe that miscegenation, multiculturalism, immigration of nonwhites and low birth rates among whites are threatening the white race,[6] and some argue that it amounts to white genocide.[6]

Reverse it and see what you get.

Democracy outweigh everything, even if I thought he had the right ideas

Think outside the binary box a little. The US is Russia's chief global
adversary. The US is fighting Isis. Who does Russia hate more, Isis or
The US? This is some 3D chess by Putin.

Now you explain the fact the so many of Isis's weapons are Russian.

That's just made up bullshit which anyone who is paying attention knows. Almost all their major weaponry came from the U.S. The cover story is that it was 'captured'. Coincidentlly, often immediately after we shipped it there.

You didn't quote any figures from Pew Research. You twisted Pew Research poll results to produce the story line you wanted.

The population of members and supporters of right-wing hate groups in the U.S. is probably much smaller than the Muslim population in the U.S. You have to keep dancing and dancing on this but the plain fact is that a resident of the U.S. is more likely to be killed or injured by a right-wing terrorist than a 'Muslim terrorist'. You hate that fact.

Can you name one Muslim country which systematically murdered 8,000 non-Muslim captives in a single town (Srebrenica by Christian Serbs)? I guess that was when you said 'Saudi Arabia' without saying 'the U.S.A.' Duh.

The gangs are always portrayed as 'Muslim' by your sources. Are you asserting that it's a Muslim religious value to be a pimp and consort with prostitutes?

Your propaganda creed is bizarrely contradictory. Your crackpot line is that Muslim men are guilty of both suppressing women's free expression of their sexual attractiveness AND forcing women to be prostitutes who will have sex with anyone. In other words, from whichever direction is handy, you will do everything in your power to falsely disparage Muslims as an ethnic group.

Everything you said there is 100% bullshit. You seek to portray Muslims as uniquely evil, you have to lie to do that, I call you out for that, and you lie more by portraying refutation of your lies as a 'free pass' for Muslims. This is how a psychopath argues.

This is 'furkedon's' bedtime story about innocent little white girls kidnapped from their parents and 'groomed' to become prostitutes. The parents apparently forgot to report them kidnapped.

The massive irony of all this is the character of pig who's claiming this:

'fffurken': 'And then in Thailand I discovered that an abundance of sex didn't have to involve complications, like human relations. And so began a well over
decade long stint of whoremongering in that country. I had more than 10 years of sex tours in Thailand'

'fffurken': 'I'm very good looking, certainly was in my youth. Getting some wasn't an issue, partying like I'm a boss (in Thailand) was fun, and it's hardly as if being drunk got in the way'

You're an inveterate victim of brain collapse. Where the weapons were manufactured is irrelevant. What's relevant is who supplied them. The 'West', mostly the U.S., supplied Chinese, Russian and Eastern European weaponry to the fake 'Syrian democratic' groups created by the U.S. which then went directly to al-Qaeda and ISIS. That was the dirty secret of the four American deaths in Libya which has been covered up by both the Democrats and Republicans. Their job there was overseeing the transfer of Libyan weapons to Syria. That was just one of the sources. Watch your own cited source, Genius- the attached video shows ISIS parading Humvees, American tanks, and a fleet of Toyotas which the US supposedly shipped to 'Syrian democratic' forces.

You're trying to claim Russia is supporting ISIS when it is Russia which is primarily responsible for the defeat of ISIS in Syria. The blockheadedness you display is indescribable.

So the US bought Chinese, Russian and Eastern European arms then
supplied them to Isis? Don't you manufacture arms?

There were some recovered US arms but that was mainly pre-2014,
according to reports I've read, and they comprise only a small part of
Isis weaponry.
