I have the same bike, but in green.  These were made in India (everything, including the seat and tires). Mine was imported sometime in the 1990s; it sat in the box and I bought it around 2005.  These are great bikes for riding around town--very, very heavy, but fun to ride and they get lots of looks.

Not that this really matters because it is an interesting bike regardless, but Is that TT really downsloping or is this an optical illusion?  The rear wheel is higher than the front due to the brake/stand and I'm not sure if the ground and siding on the building is level.  I'm just eyeballing it, but I can't decide if the TT is level or not.

The down slopping looks more exaggerated because the rear end is raised up, but if you look at the angles at the juncture of the top tubes and the seat tube, you can see that the top tubes are still down slopping.
