For me part of the beauty of dynamo lights is that they're part of the
bike. I feel like the risk of having my lights stolen (from a dynamo
set-up) is about the same as someone stealing my seat, handlebars, brakes,
racks, or anything that can be un-bolted.

I often use an Exposure Diablo in a helmet mount for commuting. VERY bright, excellent beam. Very light, rechargeable, long charge life (at least 3-4 hours on highest power, up to 8 at low power, which is still quite bright). Downside is price -- almost $200.
But that's still cheaper than dynamo hub and dynamo light.

I like the Dinotte lights for commuting. I use the dual lithiums. They go on and off the bike very quickly and give plenty of light for riding on dark roads. Not as convenient as a generator but they move from bike to bike, which makes them very versatile.

Hey group, I am thinking about getting a Generator hub/light combo
and was wondering if the lights typically attach and detatch from the
from rack easily. I could lock the bike up in some unfavorable
areas sometimes and would like to be able to remove the light
easily. And are some models easier than others. thanks -Mike

Hey all,
Sadly my Atlantis went missing last night from the front of my house
Apr 19-20 in Santa Fe, NM. If yall - especially anyone in SF or
Albuquerque - could keep an eye out I'd appreciate it.
It's pretty unique, even for a Riv, so it shouldn't be too hard to
spot.
identifying details:
61cm frame size
Clear powdercoat - looks like bare metal
Front and rear touring racks
front and rear bags - rear: black carradice saddlebag, front - green
ostritch handlebar bag
front Shimano generator hub for B&M IQ fly led headlight
mismatched front/rear tires: (f) - Panaracer Pasela (r) black Schwalbe
Marathon Supreme
rear wheel - velocity synergy rim w/ Shimano Deore XT hub
faded green cloth handlebar tape, gum brake lever hoods
brown leather saddle with slot (Selle AnAtomica)
silver SKS fenders
brass bell
couple of recent photos:

So sorry Tim. I know that terrible feeling when you realize the bike is not
where you left it. And your Atlantis was tricked out and personalized. (Now
that I think about it, perhaps ALL Atlantai are personalized.) Be sure and
take pictures of the bike along with your contact information into the
local bike shops. And keep an eye on craigslist and eBay. Good luck!

A sign of the End Times: Patrick Moore has raised his bars to saddle
height! :)
I hope you like it.

Coppi has a very different off-bike physique. The nickname "stork"
surely had something to do with the contrast of his appearance on the
bike and off, as the bird, graceful in flight yet so awkward on the
ground. His bike's fit to his proportions ought to be compared to that
more than Contador. Time in P.O.W. camps and life before the invention
of the Twinkie is all that keeps him that low in the hooks.

The only disadvantage I have found with bars at or above the seat is when I
want to rock the bike while standing up. But as I age I find I sit down,
both on and off the bike, a lot more.

He was a Marshwiggle, for you Narnia readers. But the point of the
website was that there isn't really that much difference in efficient
position over the years.

It's not unusual for a modern pro to look like a POW. Prime example:

I have a pair of lightly used (100-200 miles) Jack Brown blues that I'd
like to trade for a pair of lightly used Jack Brown greens. Is anyone
interested in such a trade?

It's paint. William's right, it shows up very well in the YouTube video.
I'm still not sure what to call it, other than "pretty".

When I took it off the rack, I noticed a little wear and I've featured it
heavily in the photos. Anyway, that's that. Feel free to ask any questions
you like.

Hey,
If anyone's interested in unloading their 66cm Quickbeam please let me
know. I'd prefer frame only with front rack braze ons but I'm not
picky.
Or even better yet, if anyone wants to trade a 66cm for 68 with a Joe
Bell custom paint job and Clif Wright custom beausage that would be
ideal.
Thanks,
Clif
