How do they size their fenders?  Does the model # correspond at all to the width?  The ones I have are ~47mm edge to edge (straight across, not following the bend).  Would those be the P45 fenders?  Also, any problems getting fenderline to match up using them on a 650b bike?  This is for a CdlV tires on a Glorius if that helps.

I think those are P45s--I have the P60s (I forget if that's what
they're actually called--they are actually 60mm wide, for 26" wheels)
and they are super wide with tons of clearance even with 42mm 650b
tires. It's easier to get the fender lines right on a 650b with 700c
plastic fenders than 26".

So0-even though you should really spring for the Honjos for the
Glorius--I bet you'll be fine!

My guess is P45 as they don't seem large enough for a real big tire, but was hoping for some expert input!

And yes, Honjos would be just perfect!

It is possible to get a decent fenderline on your 650b, but not
perfect. I finally picked up some VO zepplin fenders which have a
noticeably better line for my bleriot.

Hi Erik, I was also looking at these.  They're narrower than the Zeps, think they would be ok?

David,

You might be pushing it putting Cldvs under those hammered 45s. The VO
site itself says for tires up to 35 and I believe Cldvs are 38s. Now,
you could probably fit them in there, but it would be tight.

HI Erik, my CldVs measure 36, so should fit the hammered ones fine.
But I'm really looking at the 58mm fluted ones on sale for $35. Just
thinking the tires would end up looking relatively awkward underneath
them, but maybe that's ok for the price! Some 50mm Honjos would be
just perfect, but I can't justify those for this bike (doesn't need
any, never sees water, just for looks, garage queen status, etc).

Being me just is so complicated... :-)

I just measured the P-50's on my 650b, Hetre'd Quickbeam and they're around 53-55mm, so I think you are correct in assuming that you have P45's.  My experience has been that the P-50's gave better coverage and fender line than the 45's but that may have been a quirk of installation...

Quick pic of the Quick(beam) for fender displayin' purposes:

Hey Steve, thanks for digging out the calipers!  I am soooo conflicted over fenders.  They're 100% non-functional on this bike, just to make it look snazzy.  Now I'm down to SKS long ones, or the fluted VO ones.  Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Heh, substitute "tape measure and a squint thru the bifocals," for "calipers," and you're welcome...
