Is the Velocity Synergy the only 650b rim being sold for use with rim brakes?

Kirk Pacenti has a 650b box rim, the PL23.
Anthony at Longleaf has Velocity A23 made in 650b, a Dyad-like rim; I built up a set on 36h.
A hard-to-find rim in the US, a Rigida Sphinx is supposed to be a solid rim, too.

Velocity also has the Twin Hollow, but I'd go w/ the Synergy over it. I have one Synergy 650b wheelset, w/o any problems w/ them.

Seriously, I'm at least 225 pounds and at 6 foot I just seem to be normal around my parts.

Well, there used to be a radio show in the 1940s/1950s, a detective show
based on a Dashiell Hammet character called "The Fat Man" that used the
following intro:

I went with the Dyad 36 hole rim and Phil "Rivy" freewheel hub when I had wheels built for my Hillborne. Rich built them and they have been nothing short of incredible, haven't been out of true yet and I rode probably at least 5000 miles on them this year. My vote goes for the dyad laced to a good strong hub, maybe the White Industries hub or even just a Shimano XT.

This is my AHH, 60cm with a rear wheel built by Rich at HOW. Phil Rivy 36 spoke almost dish less with a seven speed freewheel. Rim is a Synergy 700c. I weigh 210 on a good day, and routinely put 25 lbs of camera equipment and stuff in the rear basket. Alba bars keep my weight back and I consider this a bombproof rear wheel. In 650b it would be even stronger.

The Dyads have not been made in 650B recently.  The A23 is the closest replacement and was made in a special batch for  Longleaf  Bicyles.

I also have a set of 650B Dyads and they seem like a good rim.

Campy only guarantees their wheels to 180 lb.  I the world of racing cyclists, more than that = Clyde!

In mountain bike racing, the Clydesdale class is for those greater than 200 lbs.

As to 650b rims for rim brakes, there is also the Weinman ZAC19. Stan's made a ZTR 355 rim in 650b for rim brakes but it's been discontinued. You may still be able to find them NOS some where.

I'm a clyde and I've used Synergy's on many bikes with no problems. Very good rim, especially when built by an expert.

In development: A tuff-boy 650B rim by Velocity and musa, tentatively called the Atlas. An inch wide, with thick spoke bed and sidewalls.

 Also, from Alex in taiwan, an even tuffer-boy rim based on a 32mm wide bmx rim.

Early mtn bike rims were 32-or-so mm wide, makes sense for wide tires. You get more tire volume (height and width) and less tire roll at lower pressures. The marketing challenge, if that's what it is, is going to be presenting a super smart rock solid rim for heavy riders or heavy use while at the same time respectfully answering questions such as "how much does it weigh?"
If a rim is widened to the point where it's really optimized for 40-55mm tires AND is thicked up in the sidewall for longer life AND has a thicker spoke bed to longer resist cracking at the hole AND has a slightly taller braking surface for more tolerance in brake adjustment, then the overall volume of metal is going to be about 75 percent greater, which means 75 percent heavier. Of course, it'll take 2x the wear and abuse, so is a bargain (for certain kinds of riding). Anyway, I expect more 650B rim options as the size gets popularized---which is happening big time these months.
