Disclaimer: I realize, running knobby, lugged tires under fitted fenders can be hazardous, as a twig could get picked up and pulled in and jam. Do not do as I do; I was curious if it was even possible to do this, so I tried...

56cm Bomba, 650b; Pacenti NeoMoto 2.3 tires, and P65 SKS/ESGE fenders. Plenty of room, more than my Ram has w/32's under aluminum 45 fenders...

Wow that's serious clearance.    That setup looks awesome.  Regarding streetable tires fatter than hetres, I highly recommend the schwalbe 'fatty' tires that Rivendell sells.. great tires.

I originally picked up a set of the Continentals from Riv, called 42s but measure out at 37; a good tire, tho' (but the dickens to mount). The other day, when Jan had the sale, I picked up a Kenda that's a 44, that I haven't tried yet, but also a pair of Hutchinsons in 42, that look more promising than the Kendas... But, I have a hunch there's more on the way...

A good sharp utility knife and some diligent slicing would result in some lightweight 2.3" 650b slicks...
