Hi-

A couple of weeks ago, someone on the list asked about experiences with
the Riv Carbonomas fork. About a week ago, I had my LBS (Vecchios in
Boulder, CO) replace a carbon fork with the Carbonomas on my titanium
road bike.

I've never replaced a fork on one of my bikes before and I was
interested in any differences that I might notice in the bike's
handling. Bottom line, the bike's handling was essentially the same. I
didn't notice any differences. I'm using a slightly larger tire (26 mm
now instead of 23 mm before) as Grant suggested in the Carbonomas
description. I'm very pleased!

Thanks to Riv for making the Carbonomas available!

I took a couple of crummy photos of my Ti bike with the new fork:

Hope these help.

I'm the one who asked. Thank you for posting a followup to that thread. I appreciate hearing your experience. The fork definitely looks good on your bike.

Do you know if the fork specs were roughly similar to the fork you replaced? And what 26mm tire are you using?

Thanks,
Aaron

Aaron-

I'm using Grand Bois Cerf 700 x 26 mm tires. I'm limited in tire
clearance by the rear rather than the front.

The rake of the carbon fork was 43 mm compared to the 45 mm of the steel
Carbonomas fork. I didn't measure the length difference but it is
probably very small.

Good luck,
Doug
