A few weeks back I was lucky enough to score an Atlantis at a ridiculous price. Despite the price, purchasing the bike was a tough desicion for me when I, A) already had a wonderfuly fitting and riding Surly LHT; B) Wasn't sure that a 58cm atlantis would provide an adequate fit; and C) have a new 4 month old at home ( I may have left that part our originally!!)Many of you here were intergral in helping me make the leap to purchase the bike and I wanted to say a big hearty thank you! So far everything could not have worked out better. I was able to pass on the LHT to a good friend and now new riding partner. The bike rides, fits, and looks like a dream. And being that I was able to sell the LHT and some other parts to fund the purchase, the wife is happy as well. Here is a picture of the bike as it is now . I added some brown Big Apples and Paul mini-motos on the front, and swapped out a shorter stem, aside from that the bike is as it came. I still haven't decided what I am going to do in regards to the brake levers (as you can tell by my wacked out cabling and lack of handlebar tape). I had STI's on LHT, and while I don't miss the intergated shifting, I do miss the nice hand position on top of the lever. I also think I may like the clean look of aero brakes better. Does anyone have a suggestion for some nice gum hooded aero brake leves that offer a nice top hand position?--

I'd be really interested in hearing your comparison of ride quality of the LHT vs. Atlantis. I have a Trucker but have always lusted after the Atlantis...The LHT rides like a tank and feels incredibly slow. I can't imagine that I'd be able to manage over 8 mph with any kind of load on it. Granted, a lot of that could be the engine, but would love to hear your insights of one versus the other.

B) but my better thought: why not run a regular Motolite v-brake, instead of the mini? It'd have loads more clearance...
