Application Notes

[RDK Support]

Below is a brief list of application notes.  These will range from ideas on improving the radar's operation, to troubleshooting common problems. 

• To maximize the effectiveness of the Audio feedback system (listening to the beat frequency), the ramp time should be set to a low value (1 or 2 ms).  This shortens the unambiguous range and emphasizes frequency with target range.

• When connecting over Bluetooth, SW1 (the push button switch located at the edge of the RDK board between the light bar and USB port) must be pressed.  This will flash all LEDs and allow the RDK to communicate using Bluetooth.
  

• When sending commands to the RDK over a Bluetooth connection all commands must end with the ‘$’ character.  Example:  to set the start frequency, send sweep:freqstar$ to the RDK while using Bluetooth.  If you are using the Quonset Microwave Windows or Android App this can be disregarded since the applications handle this internally.
