When I try to edit a text area in Textmate 2 QC beach balls and I have to force quit it. I can get editing to work with other editors (e.g. BBEdit) but not TextMate2. Strangely it seemed to work fine with TM2 for the first couple of tries, but now fails.

Is this a known issue? Any workarounds?

When QC beachballs, is TM2 open or quit at that point? If quit, does it work better if TM2 is already launched when you use it with QC?

I'm guessing you're on 10.8 Mtn Lion?

I have the exact same problem. Using 10.8.2. It seemed to work pretty well until recently.

It beachballs with every application I try to send text to (TextMate, Espresso, Byword), no matter if they're open or closed.

The texteditor is launched, but the text does not appear.

I deleted the preferences file to start from scratch, still no dice.

Please fix it.

This is very similar to the problem I'm having with Sublime Text 2. I don't really know the causes behind this problem, but it always happens when I'm trying to send form text from Chrome out to Sublime Text for editing. I haven't tested any other text editors. I do know that the only way to get QuickCursor working again is to completely restart my machine. Needless to say, this is super annoying. QuickCursor used to be one of my favorite utilities, but now it's just a liability.

I've been happily using QuickCursor for a few years. I just recently got a new laptop, and when I went to download what was formerly a free app, I found the link to the App Store. Given that QuickCursor has been immensely useful to me over the years, I was happy to pay the $4.99. But this version doesn't seem to work with the new computer. I get results similar to what others have described: MacVim launches, but no text appears in the window, and I get a beach ball when mousing over the NSStatusItem and have to force quit.

Is the software broken on 10.8.2?

It's inconsistent right now (10.8.2/10.7.5) and I'm incredibly sorry we don't know all the reasons why, beyond sandboxing as a general culprit. I'm seeing that what will work for one person won't for another, without a common theme (same OS X version, same/no background utilities). For example right now MacVim, BBEdit, Byword and a few others work consistently for me, whereas iA Writer doesn't always unless I keep a blank document open. The opposite seems to be true for others (like yourself with MacVim).

It's incredibly frustrating and I'm considering recommending that we yank the app from the App Store for the time being (not the current plan, that's my own frustrations speaking through).

I have just removed QuickCursor from sale in the Mac App Store because
I cannot in good faith promise we can fix these ongoing issues in a
reasonable amount of time. Please see this new thread for more
details: http://groups.google.com/group/quickcursor/browse_thread/thread/3770693251baddec?hl=en

I'm sorry.
