Python project nights

Would you be interested in a monthly hacking session?
Alan Richardson has offered us the AMWorks co-working space as a
venue, free-of-charge.
There's a wireless network, a projector and screen; plus office chairs
and acres of desk-space.

AMWorks has hosted a similar event in June for /Ruby Ireland/.

What would you like to work on?
It could be a Python module, a commercial project, an App Engine site
for a non-profit, an exercise to learn about some feature of Python or
Django; you name it.
The events can embrace group projects; as well as individual projects.
Please respond in this thread, to register your interest in a Python
project night.

AMWorks is located to the rear of the AIB branch on Capel Street. Walk
from the Spire down Henry Street, continue straight on to the end of
Mary Street; then walk around to the left of the AIB branch. Turn
right onto cobblestones. The entrance to AMWorks is located about
half-way down this street (Anglesea Row, which runs parallel to Capel
Street).

Replace 'hacking' with 'coding' - in this case they mean the same thing.

It can be as high-level or as low-level as the project demands (and
the group decides).

No. You can remain silent and work on your own project. Or remain
silent and observe a group working on a project (if they're happy for
you to join). Or join in and discuss a group project--and work on it.
It's intended to be a free-form event; with one or several group
projects and a sprinkling of individual projects (depending on who
shows up on the night!)
It will be best if those with group project ideas declare them in
advance--then they can bring a team together which will (with any
luck) show up and start coding.
Not unlike /Startup Weekend/, but with the option to carry over the
project from month-to-month--or contribute to a shared repository
between project nights. (I recommend Bitbucket or Github, if you care
to learn Mercurial or Git.)
One big difference from /Startup Weekend/: the project doesn't have to
be commercial, it can be open source or for charity, or just a coding
exercise.
