this is a project we were discussing at the last get together. anyone who wants to use it and get in on the build is welcome to do so.

I've seen this kit around before. I'm very interested in getting involved in this project in any way I can.

I've been out of town for the past 3 weeks, and will unfortunately miss the meeting tonight (Sept 18th), but will catch up about this project next tuesday.

well guys it looks like the order on inventables will go ahead since 62 people have ordered it us included. hopefully in the next few days i should get info when it will be shipped.

I believe MUNs Dr Paul Gillard has one of these if a local reference is helpful

Hey all, Guess what we have started our first group build. its the Shapeoko CNC machine. Cool hey. if your interested in learning more about it check out the link http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page for info on the build. if anyone is interested in the build process bring them along to our weekly meetings to watch this machine come to life piece by piece.

so as of now our order is in and being processed at inventables they say the kit will ship in less than 60 days. here's the purchase website.

so this kit is just the mechanical portion of the kit since we are a bunch of resourceful do it your self'ers the following items need to be gathered to finish the kit.

Items i have to purchase
Stepper Motors3Nema17, bipolar motors
Power Supply124v 4.2A 
items the group can source from there junk piles basements wherever.
- an emergency stop mushroom button.
- miscellaneous wire
- an enclosure box to mount the controller button etc
- a dremel tool or similar cutting tool
- bits for the tool
- arduino uno or mega and usb cable.
- material to cut
- salvaged power cord
