Some questions about reading table.

Hello.

I have XLSX file and I am trying to read values from it and save in database.

It's working fine except on the field where I have date "6/25/2012" it reads it as 41085, why is that so? How to make it read as String?

And I have some local native UTF-8 symbols in my excel file, but they don't show when I read them with php? How to set up UTF-8 for it ?

Did you open the spreadsheet and set the column type to date with format
of "dd/mm/yyyy"?

If not then that is the value that Excel set for the field. If you or
your customer run this often, I would suggest you set this up as a
template file, ie .xlt/.xltx so formatting is preserved. If this does
not work then you will have to convert the value to the desired date.

Thank you for your reply. This document is as I get it from bank (account summary for some period) so I cant change anything about it and I presume this formatting will stay "forever". Could you please let me know what does this number stand for? What would be the formula to convert it to time-stamp?

How on earth are you reading XLSX files with php-excel-reader which only can read the ancient XLS format?
