Hello all,

Just thought I'd drop a quick introduction

This week I've become the new owner of Pearson 10M hull #133 (previous name 'WINSOME').
The boat is a standard (not tall) rig and has a Farymann diesel.

I'm in the process of moving the boat from CT to upstate NY.

The boat needs a bit of work as it has been sitting idle in the yard for 5+ years.

There is pretty much nothing new on the boat, so I'll be doing a refit.
Major items to address:
  • all hoses and though hulls
  • standing rigging/running rigging
  • two stanchions need deck recore/repair where they were overloaded by snow on a winter cover and ended up breaking the outer fiberglass deck skin as they went down.
  • diesel tank has a leak, remove and replace
  • several soft spots on foredeck
The boat is pretty complete, but neglected.
I have a fat folder of old docs for the ancient VHF and other equipment.

I will probably not put her in the water this summer.

If anyone knows anything about this boat's history and previous owners, please drop me a line.

Greg,
When I bought my 1974 10M  (hull #46) in 2000, it had the original Farymann diesel.  I replaced it in 2008 with a new Yanmar.
I still have some of the original documents for the Farymann and (I think) the manual.  You are welcome to them.  Just reply with
a mailing address.

there is a good thread on this group "sealing the deck revisited" that touched on many of the issues involved in fixing the deck under the stanchions.
I've added 1/2" fiberglass topping plates and 1/4" fiberglass backing plates to all of by stanchions, also removed balse core and replaced with glass.

I found some pictures that I took while installing the topping plates. I painted them white before the final installation.

Guy,
The photos are exactly what I'm facing.
Very good info in the 'revisited' thread as well.
Thanks a bunch!

Greg
