Won't Start: "Logging onto the SIP gateway"

I've not built a server in a while and this time, I enabled the SIP gateway and domain.
At the time, I didn't realize that OM might fail on startup if it could not authenticate onto the SIP server.

So what is going on? Is OM trying to authenticate an account on the SIP server in order to boot?
Should I edit a file then create the account on the SIP server or should I edit a file to disable SIP connect on startup for now?

Can someone advise as the server is just sitting there, won't time out, won't start, etc.

Mike,

do disable the SIP option, this functionality is designed to work with OpenXG and Kamailio SIP Server. We have build it together with JTN from Finland. You should contact their Sales team to find out what infrastructure you need in order to get the SIP integration done. It is using a Java Applet to do the Voice-Conferencing.

I asked the JNT people for detaild informations. But they are not ready to give this informations yet. They told me, that they are working on it, and that they will make this informations available in the end of this year.

 

@ Sebastian: Smoth SIP-Integration is a  point for the whishing list for next releases of OM.

Can you publish some detailed informations on the project with JNT.

well I think maybe they will publish something earlier or you will get that through this list.

Where do I disable it so that I can restart it?

A while back, OM was being considered as being added by default into sipx. This is why I enabled it, thinking it might be an optional service during install that I could configure later on.

I've used OpenSBC in some cases and do have a Kamailio server running because we were going to test some load balancing. I could look into that later but for now, how do I disable SIP so that I can restart the server.

You can always login as Administrator, also if the SIP is *not ready*

Then you goto Administration > Configuration ... there is an sip_enable key, and you put an 0 instead of 1 into the value.

For the exact values about Kamilio you need to get in touch with JNT, they have all the infrastructure and knowledge about the SIP Routing.

The server is stuck at that screen so are you saying there is another way to get to the admin screen?
I thought I might be able to edit a file and just disable the option then restart the server.

yeah,

well you can also stop the openmeetings service, use your favorite admin tool and edit the table configuration in your database manually. The keys in there are the same as in the Admin-Panel.
