Hi Isaiah,
That is great news!
You will without any doubt gain invaluable knowledge around the use of the OpenHIM, how it is implemented and even better, how to support the tool and grow on its existing features and capabilities.
Have you had a look at the OpenHIM documentation found here? We are currently in the process of refining the content in this space but should still give a good enough overview around the OpenHIM.
May I suggest that you play around with a locally employed instance of the OpenHIM-Core/Console to familiarise yourself with the tool?
Once you have had a chance to play around with the OpenHIM, maybe compile a few questions then let me know what your availability will be like for a Skype call?
You can setup a virtual machine such as Oracles’ VM Virtualbox to create your staging environment for the OpenHIM.
If you have any difficulties regarding the implementation of the OpenHIM, please don’t hesitate to contact me for assistance.
Thank you
Kindest regards,
Richard Langford

Hi Isaiah,
Agreed, noticed that too. Will update that accordingly.
I completed the setup and I am able to launch the OpenHIM Console.
What I did was create a folder on the c:\ directory called it OpenHIM and stored my Console and nginx folders in this directory.
Is nginx running?
Also, do you have more than one webserver running on your machine?
Is it a VM, your local machine or a remote machine?
Thanks J

As you go through the manual, I would also like to put it to your attention that the npm command should be ran in the windows command prompt not in the nodejs command line as stated in the guide.
I hope you notice that too.
Thanks.

Hi Isaiah,
Make sure that the location on line 43 in the nginx.conf file matches the location to which you extracted the OpenHIM Console contents.
Also check the config on lines 36 and 37. If for example the “server_name” and “listen” values are localhost and 5555, then you will access the OpenHIM console using the URL http://localhost:5555/
Did you save the attached file to the OpenHIM directory then run the command openhim-core --conf=C:\OpenHIM\core.json ? Assuming of course that you are using C:\OpenHIM as a containing directory.
Thanks J
