Paco and I are planning a run for Sunday morning. We have two options for the run and will post the route once we have it nailed down. Both options would be between 9.5 and 10.5 miles.
The first would be starting at the turn-around near the spill-way and boat launch area up at the dam and running the Potter's Ravine trail loop. We would then head across the dam entering the Dan Beebe trail north towards the visitor's center to connect with the Bidwell Canyon trail where we would end our run at the Saddle Dam day use area. That run is just over 11 miles, but we would probably take the car from the turn-around to the other side of the dam since we are not too fond of running on the asphalt. :)
The second option is running from the neighborhood just off of Table Mountain Blvd and Cherokee Rd up the north side of the river on the Brad Freeman trail to the turn-around at the spillway, running across the dam down to the Dan Beebe trail entrance at the intersection of Canyon Dr and Oro Dam ending at the Dan Beebe/Oro Dam crossing for a total of about 10.5 miles.
Please post if anyone is interested in joining us and if you have a preference for the run, we are open to changing routes. We will likely have a 7am start to avoid the heat.
*ALSO** If running 10 miles or so doesn't appeal to anyone, both of these routes have several of 'jump-in' options ranging from 1 to 5 miles, so shorter runs are available.
