I am preparing (almost finished) putting together a number of folders containing all design and production info on these products. The data will be in ZIP'd or RAR'd files. (Preference?)

David Forbes, one of the first 10-20 charter members of Neonixie-L, has offered to host it, but I am waiting for his confirmation.

There will be two sets of additional materials.

1. A 2008 design for a combined GKK and FLW with many new novel features. There was a lot of lingusitic work done to allow for levels of obscurity (many words are only known to crossword puzzle nuts). Some may not want these to appear. That design also had a HEAD LINE NEWS feature to put out sentences that read line newspaper headlines. Anyone with interest in using this info is free to use it. The design includes a PCB, schematic, and some coding for the microcontroller, besides the language research work. There were new fonts that were to replace a dew older GKK fonts.

2. Something totally different is a 2006 design that got stalled. It is a 4x6 matrix of 1-inch end-view tubes that would cascade digits. It was inspired by the Matrix movies. These modules canbe stacked vertically or horizontally to form larger arrays. This design has a schematic, interface specifications and a carefully designed PCB. The cascading can be downward, upward or even left or right. Anyone interested in this who needs help understanding the documentation can contact me. This will also be in the public domain.

Cheers to all.

When can we expect all the files to be available?

C'mon Ray, what's taking so long, it's been almost 2 months. I guess
it's another failed promise.

Comments like this one should have been made in private, I think.
Sorry, didn't mean to feed the troll. :S

Respect? For the guy who is a known thief? Ray is the definition of chutzpa, killing his parents and then begging for mercy because he is an orphan. This list has been way more forgiving than he deserves.

Wow, that's a lot of venom, whoever you are. Take it to a private email, this list is not the appropriate venue.

Did anything happen with what was available being put somewhere to access?

Nothing has happened but this is par for the course with Ray. Don't
hold your breath waiting.

BTW, I'm sure I'll get flamed by some of the message board cops here
for being too harsh on Ray.

If you want a superior FLW buy the one Jeff Thomas sells; not only is
it better, but you will actually receive it.

Such a shame, I was greatly looking forward to it. I gave a number IV-4's I'd love to use the code for, assuming I work out the conversion of course!

It's amazing how folks still cut him slack. A thief is a thief, I don't
know why one would hesitate to say so, let alone stand up for him.

Hmmm, better duck now. I was soundly berated by the board cops last
time. Funny, OK to slap me for slamming Ray, but no slap for the thief
himself.

I've already done this and called it the IV4/IV17 Smartsocket. Code and design freely available at the Smartsocket group, here

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/smartsockets/

I'm actually putting together some almost built kits - solder the included tubes to the boards, twp 4-pin headers and clip them together. Yoiu can write yoiur own routines and send serial ascii data to them for display, or use the onboard 4 letter word generator. There are lots of digit transitions to play with.

I've got a new camera recently which does great video and I hope to get some good looking footage soon.

I've listed my prototype smartsockets on eBay this evening. They're in good working order, EG http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221210200921
