Has Anyone Had Any Experience And/Or Can Offer Help Regarding Getting Case Parts Cut, From Perspex. I Assume This Is Done Via A Laser And There Are Various Companies Listed. Thing Is I Have No Idea Of Costs And I Would Only Want A Few. Don't Really Want To Make A Fool Of Myself Contacting A Company That Expects A Multi Thousand Pound Order. Any Idea Of Costs If Such A Company Exists. I Am Making A Few Clocks, Got Pcb's Made Reasonably, Now Want Cases.

If you're happy to do create the design files, I'd suggest you take a look at http://www.ponoko.com for laser cutting.

Different materials available from different manufacturing 'hubs.' If you want Perspex, you'd be looking for Acrylic, in their materials list. If you use the US hub, you may also have the option of polycarbonate, less likely to crack if you put screws through it.

Kevin, I get cases made by a friend who runs his own acrylic fabrication shop. The parts aren't laser cut, they're CNC machined from acrylic, oversized at the edges and then polished down to give a nice edge. The trick is in the bonding process of the edges to eliminate bubbles and provide a clean bond without significant wash (from the solvent glue) on the inside edges. Find a local shop if possible, but for low order numbers, the cost is all in the labour, so don't be surprised to pay 50 or 60 quid for a case if not more...

HTH.

MY FAVORITE IS TO POST AS THOUGH TYPING
ON A COMMODORE 64. THERE WAS A TIME
WHEN A BBS POST FROM A C64 WAS
INSTANTLY RECOGNIZABLE AS SUCH. OH, THE
GOOD OLD DAYS.

I've built a couple of the Midibox SID from donor (broken) C64's.
There was a listing for a variety of commodore stuff on craigslist a while back and I convinced the guy to give me all of his broken ones. Out of the stack, only 1 had a bad SID chip. The rest went into the trash bin minus their 6581 SID.

To Those That Queried Capitalising The First Letter Of Each Word. This Had Happened Since MY Phone Updated To Jelly Bean. It Only Happens With Some Applications. If Anyone Knows The Cure Please Advise. As For The Original Query, Thanks For The Help.

Perhaps it is a feature? I can kind of see a new coined phrase
"jelly-bean capitalization".
