Hi,

I've been looking for a free / shareware / donate ware live image viewer for my D90 for some time... I tried to develop one myself, but though I got hold of the SDK for the D90 over a year a go, my C-lore is weak, so I never got very far.

The application available here - at time of writing NCCsetup_0.7.232.exe - does far more than I need for this specific application, but equally has features missing in my niche use case.

Over time I'll post updates on my experiences and experiments in developing associated tools (e.g bulb exposure control via USB / micro-controller for sub 10 GBP), and remote focusser for non-AF lenses, but would also be interested in collaborating to produce a 'striped down' interface, optimized for Astro-photographers using Nikon DSLRs - further information on what I'm doing are available here - http://helva.co.uk/

In the mean time - my thanks to Duka Istvan for making such a slick product freely available.

Hi Duka,

I've only had a chance to look at the app with a Nikon kit lens (and then my battery died after 10 mins), and at first glance;

Non astro-specific suggestions;
 - During live view (especially when zoomed in);
   - allow cursor-keys to pan the view
   - re-calibrate the 'click' function so it centers relative to zoomed in image, as opposed to relative to the non-zoomed image.
   - introduce 'frozen image transparency overlay' - so that you can see and control an overlaid image from a previous shot on your current exposure (very useful during stop-motion animation).
   - Alternative reticles / grids - such as cross hairs and circles
   - ability to rotate and pan the reticles

 - Shutter speed to 'Bulb' (so a remote release cable can be used)

 - further camera settings review & control, with priority to;
    - Exposure delay mode
    - Long exp NR
    - High IS NR
    - clean image sensor
    - attach comment, and have comments applied to images.

Astro-specific suggestions;
 - ability to manually enter  f, D and F data
 - ability to 'mark points' in LV image, and calculate / display angular distance between marks.
 - ability to set / un-set exposure delay mode.
 - ability to chart the 'brighness' of a section or line through mart of the LV image.

Hi, i try to improve the live view part, you can do some more explanation or/and some screen mockups :
   - Alternative reticles / grids - such as cross hairs and circles
   - ability to rotate and pan the reticles
And for :
-  ability to 'mark points' in LV image, and calculate / display angular distance between marks.
 - ability to chart the 'brighness' of a section or line through mart of the LV image.
