I don't know the best way to describe this problem, but MLO 4 is inconsistent in how it allows you to use standard Windows keyboard shortcuts for manipulating text. For example, when you are in (most) applications in Windows that involve entering/editing text (for example, could be editing something in Word, composing a new email in Outlook, typing this very thread into Chrome or Firefox), Windows has a couple of ways to quickly move around and delete the text. Holding down CTRL and then using the arrow keys allow you to move quickly between words (great shortcut!), also holding down CTRL and pressing the Backspace key allows you to delete one word at a time (also, great shortcut).

Sadly, this is not consistent in all the different text boxes and fields throughout MLO. For example, I've already noticed that using CTRL and arrow keys to move the cursor between words works in all the text inputs in MLO, but using CTRL + Backspace doesn't work in the Rapid Task Entry box or editing the task title (in the task properties pane) or while editing the task title in the outline/task list (CTRL + Backspace does work as expected with the task notes pane). In these cases, pressing CTRL + Backspace just appends an odd character " " (might not show up here) to the position of wherever the cursor is .. anyway, it basically does the opposite of what you want and is useless. This is unfortunate, because what good is using a keyboard shortcut to speed up your work when it only works the way you expect it to 50% of the time?

This might be out of the developer's control, as even Microsoft doesn't obey their own shortcuts sometimes, because CTRL + Backspace doesn't work in Notepad (it does seem like it should be possible though, because I use an alternate to Notepad called TextPad and there the shortcut works just fine). So in conclusion, it would be nice if this behavior worked consistently like a user would expect if they've come to use it in word processor, email client, or a browser -- then it should also work that way in MLO.

Thanks.

Also triple-clicking does NOT select the entire task name (in the RTE box, or the task title in either the list or the properties).. Which is unfortunate because this is user-expected behavior and ironically slows down your productivity when it doesn't respond the way you expect it to.

New user here, just ran into the CTRL+Backspace issues as well. Worse than just not working, it is inserting a "garbage" character into the text (it shows up as an empty rectangle).

I know this is a minor issue but it would be very nice if it could be fixed!
