I often hesitate to publish or vote on user voice, because there is a lot of request that are, in fact, the same, and they have to share the votes, when they could have them all if request were more guided.
Wouldn't it be more efficient to fill some fields about the purpose of each request before to enter free text ? This way, it could group similar request, and sum the votes.

Rob - uservoice is far from perfect. As its less than perfect administrator I've tried to encourage people to merge/delete duplicate requests. In general no one has listened to my suggestions. Net result I've moved onto more valuable activities.

I suspect that Andrey survey's the field of requests he looks through all of them and not just the top 10.

Cheers

Hey, don't get me wrong, I did not criticize your work. It just strikes me as difficult for us, simple users, to delete messages, especially if they have already received votes.

Don't worry I don't take it as criticism.

Here's my problem if I use my power as moderator to delete things then people will yell at me and Andrey (who has nothing to do with the site) for deleting their stuff. If the users of this forum give me permission to delete duplicates then I will.

Cheers
Mark

But is it actually possible to merge requests ?
I don't think people would blame you if their request goes from 10 to 25 votes because it has been merged with another.
This user voice is not a poetry contest : whatever the post which is at the origin, we want features to be implemented, rather than recognition of ou post, don't we ?
