I have tried the desktop evaluation version for sometimes and I have purchased the iPad versions few days ago to test the sync function(no choice but to buy as no evaluation is available in the apps store) but it ends up in errors above after syncing. Suspect that the error is caused by the incompatibility between MLO-Desktop evaluation version and MLO-iPad paid version, I finally determined to purchase the MLO-Desktop version as well (no choice as I have already invested into the MLO-iPad).
As the MLO-Desktop menu bar can no longer operate after the access violation error, I have to do a reinstallation before the license key can be entered. With the newly installed MLO Desktop with valid license key, no issue of access violation at the beginning on the blank file.
Then, I open the previous file and started to edit the tasks. In a short while, access violation come back with the same behavior
- Tasks can be edited freely initially after starting MLO, but whenever the cursor is hovered close to the menu bar, the access violation error message dialogue box pop up. Editing is disabled and MLO-Desktop cannot be closed.
- The dialogue box can be closed. Editing of tasks can operate again just like before. Except when the cursor come close to the menu bar the same error recur. MLO can be closed normally after dialogue box closed.
- Sometimes when the cursor is close enough to the menu command, the pull down menu come out and then immediately followed by the dialogue box. The dialogue box can be closed and editing can operate afterwards. But the pull down menu stays as it was. Even when dragging the MLO windows across the display, the pull down menu does not move. MLO can be closed and the pull down menu disappear altogether.
- As a whole, it seems that operation with the menu bar cause the access violation.
As operation with the menu bar is disabled again, the only thing I can do is to reinstall MLO again.
Suspected that the previous data file are corrupted, I started MLO with a new blank file and do some editing. The menu bar can operate for some while. Then the access violation happens and all the above recur (before the access violation occur, I have tested syncing with iPad and have the MLO-Desktop closed and start again, but I cannot be sure if the access voilation is caused by the syncing).
Suspect that there is problem with my RAM, I test to use MLO on a laptop, the whole things happen.
Suspect that I am attacked by virus, I rescan my computers with Bitdefender and there is no virus report.I have tried to uninstall and reinstall MLO again but without syncing with iPad anymore. Same access violation Error result.Could you help to give some advice on how to fix this.Thanks a lot.--

Hi Alexandra,
My friend suggested me to turn off background services one by one to check if any is causing the problem. I finally located it.
I have an instant dictionary installed which gives the meaning to text I pointed at with the cursor. Whenever I hover the cursor close to the menu bar text of MLO (the File, Edit, View, Task...) the instant dictionary function crash with MLO and lead to the errors. I can fix the problem by selecting Alt-Cursor as the combination to activate the function. Now it is ok in using MLO.
Below is the link to the instant dictionary (which is in Chinese...), perhaps you may be interested to test what is happening. Hope that MLO 4.0 will works fine with it...
