Dear Colleagues:
The International Medieval Congress 2020 is the twenty-seventh annual Congress, and will be held from 6-9 July 2020 at the University of Leeds.
The Congress welcomes proposals on any topic related to the Middle Ages, and features a Special Thematic Strand each year; this year's focus is “Borders,” (though proposals need not necessarily engage the thematic strand—all proposals are welcome).
The Congress is particularly interested in papers, session proposals, and roundtables related to music. To that end, individual paper proposals are due by 31 August 2019 and session and roundtable proposals are due by 30 September 2019.
The proposal process for the IMC is short and painless, only a 100-word abstract. Please do consider submitting a paper or session: https://www.imc.leeds.ac.uk/imc2020/
The IMC has become an important forum for discussing the future of Medieval Studies as a discipline and important issues of diversity and inclusion. The Congress is keen for all subject areas to be a part of these important conversations.
Please note: the dates for the “Med-Ren” Music conference in Edinburgh are 1-4 July 2020, meaning that it is possible to attend both Med-Ren (July 1-4) and Leeds (July 6-9) on one itinerary and without overlapping conflict.
If I can be of any assistance, please be in touch.
