Can anyone help me? How do I get pasted text from MS-Word to be single-spaced in Mnemosyne?
I did not see this in the forum discussions or in the documentation.
I use Microsoft Word 2007 to create the text needed for my cards. I then copy the text from MS-Word and paste it into Mnemosyne to create the actual cards. I do this because I use symbols {эă
зĔ øə œ єõ} to help remember the French pronunciation.
One of the nice things about Mnemosyne 1.x was that I did not have to worry about matching the font. I could create my text in Times Roman 11 and then drop it Mnemosyne. Mnemosyne would make the necessary adjustments and it would magically appear as Arial 12.
With Mnemosyne 2.0.1, I now need to match the font in MS-Word with the font in Mnemosyne. Okay, I can live within using 16-point Microsoft San Serif font when creating the text.
However, what can I do about the weird spacing that Mnemosyne is putting between the lines? I do not see an option when I go to "Card Appearance" under "Configure Mnemosyne".
I will give you a real example. Within MS-Word, the line spacing for the following text is set to 1. Spacing before a paragraph is 0 pt. Spacing after a paragrah is 0 pt.
This is how it looks in MS-Word:
(a) food
Note: foodstuffs, processed
On range certains … dans le réfrigérateur.
SYN : les provisions, la nourriture (food in general or
nourishment), les plat (dishes)
un aliment
{a/li/mă}
Note: countable in French
Note: you need aliments to make nourriture or cuisine.
This is how the same text looks after I copy-and-paste into Mnemosyne:
(a) food
Note: foodstuffs, processed
On range certains … dans le réfrigérateur.
SYN : les provisions, la nourriture (food in general or nourishment), les plat (dishes)
un aliment
{a/li/mă}
Note: countable in French
Note: you need aliments to make nourriture or cuisine.
How do I get my text to be single-spaced in Mnemosyne?
