Congratulations Peter!

The 2.x series offers some really useful new features for learning
facts, and great opportunities for plugin writers.

I will release updated versions of Mnemogogo/dodo/jojo in a few days
(there are still a few small bugs to fix). Users of these plugins/apps
are advised to stay with Mnemosyne 1.x until then.

Tim.

Congratulations and thanks for such a great program!

I often use the mobile phone for learning on the way, so I am glad to
see that there will be updated versions of Mnemogogo/dodo/jojo soon.

Great news, thank you very much for your effort!

Question: Does running from USB work the way it used to? I've made a copy of installation folder and then just copied .mnemosyne folder (from my 1.2.2) but nothing happened - it ran without errors but database is empty.

The upgrade process expects the database to be on the default location
on the hard drive, not on a custom location on the USB key, I'm afraid.

After the upgrade, you should be able to proceed as usual.

I don't understand what you mean. I too only run as a portable version on my memory stick. I'm still using the old version.

Do I install 2.0 on my desktop and then copy the appropriate folders onto my memory stick, like I did for the older version to make it portable?

If you don't have a desktop version of 1.x, first install 2.0 on the desktop,
and then choose 'file' 'import' to import your mem file from your USB key.

Then, similar instructions for running 2.0 on USB key apply as for 1.x. (see
our webpage http://mnemosyne-proj.org/help/running-from-usb-drive.php )

Good luck!

Hi Peter,

this morning I used mnemosyne quite normal, this evening I can't start the program. I'm receiving the following message instead:

Error in config: Traceback (inner most last): File „mnemosyne/libmnemosyne/configuration.pyo“,line 175, in load EOFError.

Uncaugt exeption!
Traceback (innermost last):
File “mnemosynde/libmnemosyne/_init_.pyo”, line 153, in initalise
File “mnemosynde/libmnemosyne/_init_.pyo”, line 236, in activate_components
KeyError: ‘ui_language’

As ever, I haven't the slightest idea what to do now! :-(

Hopefuly expecting any peace of advice

Werner

Strange. What happens if you delete C:\users\werner\Application
Data\Mnemosyne\config?

You will lose your settings, though, so it does not hurt to keep a copy
of this file.

Reinstalling the program didn't change anything unfortunately!

(please start a new thread when there are new issues).

Try deleting C:\users\werner\Application Data\Mnemosyne\config
or

C:\Documents and Settinge\werner\Application Data\Mnemosyne\config

depending on your version of the OS.

Good luck!

Peter

PS: 2.0.1 has been released now, too.
