You can convert the image using GIMP, which is free and open source. Also Imagemagick will work but you have to type a command instead of using a graphical interface.

I have started using Mnemosyne 2.1. Loooks good :-)

I wanted to use some pictures and got as far as .
    However no image is displayed.

    What am I doing wrong?

    (I use Imac OS X 10.6.8)

Currently jpg in not yet supported on OSX. Our OSX developer Patrick is
    working to address this issue.

    PNG should be supported, though.

Well ...., is the OSX-jpg problem solveable or should I
  • convert my (hundreds) of jpg pictures to png
  • +rewrite all to inside Mnemosyne? (Could such rewrite be done by a "search-replace" operation?)

Patrick has the item on his To Do list, but: none of these participants are paid for Mnemosyne work that they do. So a degree of patience is needed.

I'm allergic to software coding for reasons that may take another lifetime to understand and repair. That is a pity: I can't help Patrick ... :~)
