Hello! I'm a new Mnemosyne user, and am having trouble importing text
files into Mnemosyne on my Mac. I use Word to create the lists, and
then convert it to a text file with Unicode 8. When typing the lists,
I have tried both options of putting the question and answer on
separate lines, and on the same line with a tab between. Both times
when I try to import the files (using the appropriate drop-down option
from the menu), they import incorrectly, often including the question
and answer for one question in the question area and the next question
and answer in the answer area. I'm confused as to what I need to do
differently- can anyone please help!? Thank you!!

Hi Sarah,

Make sure to export your list to UTF-8. Also check that they are correctly
formatted, i.e. no forgotten answers, ... .

If it does not work, feel free to mail me your file privately.

Hey I have exactly the same option, and I can't export it to UTF-8, only UTF-16. Help!

This will be fixed in the upcoming 2.0 release.

If you have no objection to using something civilised for the word processing, under Mac OS: I use TextEdit; TextWrangler or Numbers: you may start having better luck.

Whenever I get into a jam with the text I copy and paste it into Wrangler; 'Save As... Unicode (UTF-8)'; when any problems seem to go away... ;~)
