I wonder if there is anything out there that is a cross between an Ultimaker and a Printrbot.  In other words,  an x/y cantilever system that also moves up in the z direction while it prints onto a stationary platform.

Makergear's M2 works in a similar fashion, to the Eventorbot.
If that is the correct combination of the Printerbot/Ultimaker.

Though it does cost a bit more. :-)

The M2 does cost more than the Eventorbot, but I think that's money
well spent (depending on what you want to do with the printer). The
hardware on the M2 appears to be rock solid and very accurate (check
out the axes). And did you see the 20 micron print?

Disclaimer: I've ordered an M2, so my brain may have taken over, and
started rationalizing the decision I've made. :)

Cheers, Ketil

Actually, it's the Rostock:

The build platform doesn't move and the extruder moves in all three axis.

Oops yes it is the eventorbot
I wanted to see the nozzle diameter and how the head is assembled but could not find it

That's really neat. How does the accuracy of this design compare to the
ToM or Replicator 1?

tnx!
