I have SW2012. What's the part? You could post the file here or email
it to me.

You may wish to consider making the side text a 45° in draft; you'll find they don't print well as shown, but may print just fine with draft as described. Check out the embossed letters on this part I show here: http://www.makersite.com/blog/2012/9/20/happy-birthday

Larger scale, and embossed instead of recessed, but same idea.

same for rev 1 :-)

Also, is the opening supposed to be 0.438" (11.1mm)? I had to apply a 25.4x scale factor to get it to that... otherwise it seemed a little small.

If so, that's a great component for 3D printing with this tech.

Has someone else already called this job?

There are some errors that need to be corrected in the model before printing.

I don't know why my stl file is messed up but the opening is .5" the length is 1" and width is 1"

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but opening the file in RepG and Blender shows me something under 1mm in all dimensions.

What software are you using? What units are you modeling in? What .stl export settings have you selected? Usually the fun misunderstandings happen in the mix somewhere there.

So... you mean exactly 0.5 at the opening? So it isn't a 25.4x scale factor, as that takes it to 0.438". Hmm. The mysteries of modeling!

That's quite alright, and thank you for thinking of me! I think
there's a problem though because it's very tiny in RepG. It looks like
a perfect job for a Replicator though if it were bigger.

I cant get hold of PropellerScience would you be interested in taking this project? if so how can I contact you. I use solidworks 2013

Try saving out as a .step, either format, as well as .stl. I can try each and pick the best. I'm still on SolidWorks 2012 (waiting out 2013's early bugs), so native won't work.

Send it to ad...@akerworks.com, please.

I'll be able to print it tomorrow.

Any color preference? Neon green, black, forest green, red, blue, beige are the options I have on hand.

Thanks!

Adan

I sent you the files, my email server is not working properly so I wanted to make sure you got them. white color should work.

thanks, Carlos: got 'em. Let me know if you didn't get my private reply with quote (sent roughly when you sent this note, as it happened).

By white... do you mean beige, or as they call it, "natural?" That's the closest I've got at the moment. I ordered white last week... but was a dummy and got 3mm. No good for a Replicator.

Example of a print with natural ABS: http://www.thingiverse.com/image:157944

Hope all's well,
