Community Mtg Wed Eve re: recent Robberies at Gunpoint

Lower Haight is holding a community meeting regarding safety in the hood on Wednesday, July 18, from 7 - 8:30 PM @ the Peacock Lounge on the 500 block of Haight Street.

Both of our Captains from Park & Northern will be there along with Chief Suhr...please attend and bring your neighbors. The police have to hear from us regarding crime is up in our community & it's NOT okay.

We need community numbers to get our point across, the large squeaky wheel really does work to get action from the City.

Please spread the word for this meeting, we want to make sure the police address our safety concerns and know we'll work with them to create a safe and caring neighborhood.

Also been a number of vehicle breakins lately.

The meeting is at the Peacock Lounge, 552 Haight, and starts at 6:30
for meet and greet, 7pm for meeting.

Flyer forthcoming, prob this weekend. Anyone else want to help spread
the word, pls print it out and hand out/ post. There will also be
people there fr
55 Laguna, a big project going in at old UC berkely extension, and
more (read a little bit of food:))

Had a broken car window last night. 600 block of Haight, older Acura, stole coins, toiletries, and a pocket / utility knife. Thief smashed the passenger side window.

Evan, so sorry to hear that. I've been seeing a lot of smashed glass
around the area as evidence of break-ins.

I would specifically like to try to get people near Lassaut/Webster to
come as this is a side street they're ducking down to either use or
make street sales on after hooking up outside S&W Market, so if you
are on that street, tell your neighbors to come or watch for a flyer.

You have a great following, unfortunately car break-ins are all too common all over the city, I have been a victim myself, let me take this opportunity to educate: DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR PARKED (and unattended) CAR.

I live on Webster right between Haight and Laussat and this last month seems worse than I've seen in a long time. It feels like it is quickly getting out of control...

I am really going to try to make it to the meeting but I work until 6 and I might have to leave the meeting at 8pm.

Either way I would be more than happy to help put up flyers to get other neighbors to come.
