I just found this: http://jbovlaste.lojban.org/dict/lindari

x1 measures x2 lindars in social context x3.
notes:
The lindar is a measure of social inappropriatenes. One Lindar roughly
equals the average social inappropriateness of lindar (a Lojban
central community member). One centiLindar = Mentally laughing at
something childish / lavatoriously humorous. Five centiLindars =
Chuckling out loud at something when it isn't appropriate (i.e. "I'll
be working under you for the duration of this project."). One Lindar =
Doing something completely socially inappropriate. One and a half lds.
= Being offensive enough to get in trouble and / or get reprimanded.
Two lds. = Sufficient to get punched in the face on the spot. Three
lds. = Sufficient to get stabbed. Four lds. = Sufficient to be a
target of assassination.

Is this a joke or is it meant to be serious?

HAH, serious or not, that's awesome. I like how it gives examples of centiLindars, explains what you might expect for doing something that's 1 full Lindar, but completely leaves to the imagination just what a kiloLindar might be and just what kind of reaction it would get ;)

Maybe "the aristocrats" jokes could be measured in terms of decaLindars or even hectoLindars for the really good ones.

Every circle of friends I have right now has, independent of each other, come up with 'the Lindar' as a measurement for some measure of derpiness/social-failure. Somebody then zi'evla'd my name and we all thought this was funny.

Me, me!
It's a joke-word, more or less, but naming measures after lojbanists is pretty neat IMO.
In fact, it's marked as a jargon word in jbovlaste, IIRC.
