Hi everyone.
I have a question. Let's say I want to say "My pretty little house".
I wanted to say
"mi se (melbi cmalu zdani)" but the phrase is parsed by jbofi'e
[1(2[zdani1 (home(s)) :] mi I, me)2 [is, does] «3(4(5se melbi observer of beauty-ish [type-of] cmalu small)5 [type-of] zdani being home(s))4»3]1

How can I direcly point "SE" to zdani, not to melbi ?

One way is {mi melbi cmalu se zdani}, another {mi se ke melbi cmalu
zdani [ke'e]}.

Although  {melbi cmalu se zdani} should be understood as {someone pretty small who has a house}

Right. {lo mi melbi cmalu zdani} (= {lo melbi cmalu zdani pe mi}) is "My pretty little house". You don't want se in there at all.

{mi ponse lo melbi cmalu zdani} is "I have a pretty little house".

"My pretty little house" is a sumti, not a bridi.

Yes, I misunderstood the question, I though you asked how to say "I
live in a pretty little house". But about {melbi cmalu se zdani}, I
keep my side that it's correct. The semantics of tanru is vague, it
means roughly "to have a house, somehow connected with being pretty
and being small", so it may mean both "to be pretty little resident"
or "to reside in a pretty little house", among other things.

One way is {melbi cmalu zdani mi}; another (non-standard, slightly interestingly imprecise) is {melbi cmalu zdani .i mi se go'i}

Also, you should be aware that "pretty little house", i.e. a house which is both pretty and little, is better expressed by {lo melbi ke cmalu zdani}, while {lo melbi cmalu zdani} is closer in meaning to "beautifully little house" because {melbi} attaches to {cmalu} first.

No, you understood the question fine. He asked how to make se attach to zdani instead of to melbi. It's not your fault he asked the worng question. ;)
