Here is the announcement:

http://qt.digia.com/About-us/News/Digias-Completion-Of-Acquisition-Paves-Way-For-Qt-To-Become-Worlds-Leading-Cross-Platform-Development-Framework/

My assumption is that this will not negatively impact Leo for the foreseeable future.

Any more informed comments?

I wouldn't think so. All the sources are on git hub:

git clone git://gitorious.org/qt/qt.git

I looked at them today trying to understand the unwanted scrolling
bug, but that's another story...

I expect this will be beneficial for Leo; during Nokia's watch, more focus was on mobile side, whereas Digia is more interested on desktop parts (that are being used by Leo)
