I have 4 desktops and 2 started giving me this error!
I have run CreateDBC with no errors. But I still get the error on the 2 desktops.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michele

You might try running a Windows System Restore to a date prior to the time you started having the issue.

Hi Michelle.

You have a corrupt user table. Actually the fpt table. This has happened to me before.

M2m has a routine you can follow to clear it. Basically you copy the user table to a tmp, delete the usdr table, copy the blank tables from Data00 folder, then repopulate the users.

All users need to be out whilst this goes on.

Or, just give those corrupted users new M2M logins until its a good time to shut the system down to perform the steps.

All the Best!

Hi Raj,

Thank you for your reply.

The screen comes up before the 2 users even get into M2M, but I will try anything.

I am a little unclear on where to find the tables.

Do you have a written procedure, if not can you write it for me when you have a chance.

Thanks,

Michele.

Hi Michele.

Its not a system restore, it's grabbing the user tables from your backup of x:/m2mdata/util.  They're

utuser.dbf,
utuser.fpt,
utuser.cdx

Remove these files from the Util folder and replace them from the last backup of this folder where the users were not having issues.

I don't remember if you have to do the CreateDBC or anything but I don't think so.

Hope this helps!

ACtually I've received this msg on numerous occasion, almost always on a Windows 7 PC.  IF this is not  systemwide and just specific to certain machines, then try these steps that have worked for me in the past.

1) Unistall M2M and  SQL server native client on the PC's.  Delete M2Mwin.ini too

2) Run setup.exe from the \m2m\srvpck\  directoryand isntall client from there.
I it may help to download LAtest sclncli.mis or sqlncli_x64.msi from micrsofot for SQL server native client.

3) MAke sure you are logged in with admin priveledges on the local pc's and give Explicit  RW access to Windows system directory and M2M program file directories.  For some  reason these are not granted as a default.

Ray,

The only thing I can think of right off the bat is that we disabled UAC via group policy. W7 UAC could not decide if M2M wanted elevated privileges or not. One day it would prompt the user, and the next it would not.

Not W7 specific, but I always add RW permissions for Domain Users to the M2M program folder and M2MWin.ini.

Hi Ray;

We use mostly Windows 7 workstations.  64 bit Windows 7 runs M2M 6.01 significantly better  than XP. I think this is because of more available RAM.  Also, the SQL Native client is optimized for 64 bit environments, and is more efficient with queries. It’s difficult to judge what speed increase is attributable to Windows 7, since the newer OS is always on newer machines with faster processors. Still, the improvements are noticeable.

all is correct, I dont know why its not picking it up.

Michele,

I would begin to suspect the network or server at this point. There are so many possibilities, so I'll just start throwing ideas out.

Can the workstations ping the server by name? Can you telnet to port 1433 on the server? Do you have the SQL management tools on any workstations to test connections? Can you open M2M on the server?  Ran any diagnostics on the SQL databases?  Any related errors in the event viewer on the server or workstations?

Could this be a problem with your domain security ?

Hi All;

Has anyone used an epayables system with M2M? We are evaluating Bank of America’s E-Pay system and wondered if anyone else has any experience with integrating this into M2M? Basically, this looks for a pay file to be created instead of a check run, and disperses actual payment through the cloud.

Thanks;
