Hi,

I have used Koha Live CD by Mizstik. Thanks for providing the Live CD.

Koha 3.4.3 was released on 25 July 2011. As of now, Live CD version available from SourceForge.net is Koha 3.2.5
http://sourceforge.net/projects/kohalivecd/

Live CD link from Mizstik is not working for a while.

Are there any plans to release next version of Live CD?

Thanks,

The website is down because I had problems with blogspot and did not have time to resolve it. The domain just pointed to my other blog for now.

I have very heavy work at the moment, not sure when I will be able to compile a new version. There are many new stuff in both Ubuntu and Koha, including significant changes under the hood on both fronts, so making and verifying that it really works will take a lot of time, which I won't be able to do for a long time. I'm sorry.

However, by now there are a few alternatives, such as GDSL
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gsdlkohalive

and liblivecd
http://sourceforge.net/projects/liblivecd

Both of them are well-updated and made by people who are very involved in the library scene, unlike me who is more on the IT infrastructures side. You should try them out.

Hi Mizst,

Thank you very much for your quick and detailed response. You did a great job in making Koha installation easy.

Our team used to struggle for two to three days installing Koha on Debian. Few Perl packages used to give trouble and used to have issues with configuring Debian. We have worked with Debian for almost three and half years (starting from 2008). And then, I came across your Live CD and I have tried. It was so smooth and thanked God for the Live CD. Of course, many thanks to you as well.

One of our University Libraries went live with Koha (using Koha Live CD) couple of months back.

We understand your situation. I will try other options as you have suggested.

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you. It's always very nice to hear that the Live CD has helped people out there. :-)
