Joint Summit at J and Beyond 2012?

Hi Leadership Team,

With the important discussions we had at the Leadership Team Summit
last year still open, I think it might be good to take advantage of
the upcoming J and Beyond conference as another opportunity for
Leadership Team members to meet face-to-face to continue with forward
progress.

Plus, it's more fun work together in-person.

With the J and Beyond conference coming up in a few months, and with
what I believe will be a PLT roadmap meeting there anyway, and with it
being in Europe where we have a significant number of Leadership Team
members living, this seems like a ripe opportunity to get everyone
together again.

I'm fairly confident that the budget is there to make it happen (but
Paul and Robert can correct me).

Thoughts?

Thanks Ryan for proposing a joint summit during JAB, or perhaps just before or just after it. I agree it would be good for us to get together again for all the reasons Ryan mentioned, and I think JAB is a logical time/place for that to happen.

If we decide to do this, funding is available to cover travel expenses.

So +1 from me to have a joint summit during JAB (or just before or just after).

Since JAB is now just a little more than 3 months away, if we want to do this we need to decide fairly soon.

What do others think about this?

The only thing I see is for those who will need visa to enter in Europe. It will be great if you are able to ask to the embassy if those 3 months are enough for you to get access.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the fast response, folks.  It seems like everyone who has responded has been in favor of this (nearly half of the Leadership Team), and I believe I count 10 people from the LT that will be in attendance.  Both of these seem like good indicators to me that having a LT summit at J and Beyond would be a positive step.

It would be great to hear from more folks though during the next day or so, in an effort to help get a full tally.

I would suggest to meet before & after the event. Before to discuss all kind of topics and get things together that we can communicate, discuss and work on during JAB with the community. After JAB to discuss the input we have received during the 3 JAB days.

I'll join Altansukh and ask for a clear decision about IF there will be a joint summit and, in case yes, WHEN. JAB might seem far away in the calendar, but 3 months pass really fast.

I need to schedule it carefully, as it's not only about paying my travel and accommodation, but also about how many days I can be away from my job.

Please put this as a high priority item.

Chris, Sukh, and Isidro,

I definitely understand about the timeline, and I think at this point, we should plan on having a Leadership Team Summit at J and Beyond.  Those that can make it, come. Those that can't make it, we'd miss you, but we can patch you in via teleconference.  With about 10 confirmed "yes" votes here, with the budget for it, and with the important discussions that need to happen still, I'd like us to move forward with planning the convening.

@Chris:  any chance we can get a response from the PLT ASAP regarding their team meeting?  With folks needing to get visas, tickets, etc, we really need to move quickly.

@All:  if you haven't replied yet, can you please chime in here so we can get a head count of who can make it?

In order to help organising the summit I have created a Doodle poll where I would like to ask you to fill it ASAP with your preferences for the meeting. In case you prefer to do the meeting PRE JAB, POST JAB or if you are avaliable PRE and POST JAB.
